The Her Haven Youth Impact Initiative is a structured leadership and volunteer program designed for high school juniors and seniors who want to make a difference while gaining real-world experience. Through service, mentorship, and leadership development, students earn verified volunteer hours while learning the value of giving back to their community.

This initiative prepares young people not just for graduation—but for life beyond high school.

Program Overview

The Youth Impact Initiative provides meaningful volunteer opportunities that allow students to actively support Her Haven’s mission of empowering young women transitioning into independence. Participants engage in hands-on service projects, community outreach, and event support while developing leadership, responsibility, and confidence.

Who Can Participate

The Youth Impact Initiative is open to:

  • High school juniors and seniors

  • Students seeking volunteer hours for graduation, scholarships, or service organizations

  • All participants must complete an application and submit parent/guardian consent forms.

Volunteer Opportunities

Youth Impact Initiative volunteers may assist with:

  • Community events and outreach initiatives

  • Donation organization and preparation

  • Preparing welcome kits and care packages

  • Event setup and breakdown

  • Administrative and support tasks

All activities are age-appropriate and supervised by Her Haven leadership.

🎓 Rising Leader Scholarship

As part of the Youth Impact Initiative, Her Haven proudly offers the Her Haven Rising Leader Scholarship.

This annual scholarship recognizes a graduating senior who demonstrates exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to community impact through participation in the Youth Impact Initiative.

Scholarship highlights:

  • Awarded annually to one graduating senior

  • Amount determined each year

  • Funds applied toward college, university, or accredited trade school expenses

  • Selection based on leadership, service hours, academic responsibility, and essay submission

Participation in the Youth Impact Initiative does not guarantee a scholarship, but it provides eligible students the opportunity to apply.

Program Expectations

Youth Impact Initiative volunteers are expected to:

  • Attend scheduled volunteer activities on time

  • Maintain respectful, professional behavior

  • Follow instructions from Her Haven staff and supervisors

  • Accurately log and verify volunteer hours

  • Represent Her Haven positively in all settings

Failure to meet program expectations may result in removal from the initiative.

How to Apply

To join the Youth Impact Initiative:

  1. Complete the Youth Impact Initiative application

  2. Submit required parent/guardian consent forms

  3. Attend orientation (when applicable)

  4. Begin volunteering and logging hours
